Biotechnology is a branch of science which links the biological sciences like genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, embryology and cell biology to practical disciplines like chemical engineering, information technology and bio-robotics. Biotechnology has applications in four major industrial area, including health care, crop production and agriculture, industrial use of non-food crops and other products (e.g. biodegradable plastics, vegetable oil, biofuels), and environmental uses.

The programme run in the college is affiliated to Punjabi University Patiala.The instructions for the programme will be divided into three parts (Part-I, II and III) and an annual examination will be held at the end of every year in the month as fixed by the University
