The department of CSE, established in year 1997, is one of the leading departments in the college. Computer Science encompasses both the theoretical and the practical aspects of the study of computers and algorithmic processes. Students are prepared both for further graduate studies in the discipline and also for careers in the industries. The aim of the department is to provide quality education and develop professionals who are equipped with knowledge and skills to meet with the challenges of dynamic field of computer science and engineering.

- The mission of the department is to educate future leaders in academia, industry, and entrepreneurial pursuit, through a rigorous curriculum of theory and application that develops the ability to solve problems, individually and in teams.
- The department has a team of highly qualified experienced and dedicated faculty engaged in quality teaching to help students enrich their knowledge and to provide them with an unbeatable edge to success in today’s competitive global market. Besides teachings, some of the major research areas on which the faculty members are working are Networks, Databases and Digital Image Processing.
- The department has good infrastructure facilities including audio-video facilities with LCD and OHP’s for effective teaching and fully equipped laboratories.
- Computer Center of CSE department has 14 laboratories catering to the needs of CSE, IT and MCA students. Internet access is provided through fiber. The computer center infrastructure consists of 4 Blade servers, 2 Desktop server.
- The entire IT and communication infrastructure of the campus is managed and actively maintained by technical staff of Department & Computer Centre.
- CSE labs are air conditioned and backed up by UPS/ Genset. To cater the needs of student, computer labs remain open in the evening also from 5 to 7. Laboratories are upgraded from time to time to provide state-of-the-art research facilities.

- The Department regularly organizes Seminars and National Conferences, which lay stress on the latest innovative technologies in the field of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology. Several students participate in these events to broaden their interests in other disciplines and enhance their knowledge.
- The department has a library, which has important text books, conference proceedings and Major Project reports of the previous batches. This is besides the central library.
- The department also promotes active industry-institute collaboration.
Several students of the department have secured GATE ranks and some had preferred to join directly M.Tech, MBA and PG courses. The department has produced meritorious students who have secured positions in many MNCs. Following graduation, CSE students are heavily recruited by prominent technology companies such as Tata Consultancy, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, L & T, Birla Soft, to list a few. After graduation, the department continues to enjoy strong support from alumni.
Our faculty and students work together in an environment that fosters teamwork and leadership as well as a caring attitude toward our students. The combination of all these elements makes CSE department a very exciting place to be. The Department has a major role to play in providing academic excellence in computer science and information technology. The Department has great potential for expansion in the upcoming years.
