Dr. D.S. Hira, Director attended the 2010 World Engineering Education Forum, from 18-10-2010 to 22-10- 2010. This forum comprised of :

• 9th American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Global Colloquium.
• 12th World Conference on Continuing Engineering Education (WCCEE).
• 5th International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES) Summit.
• 1st Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) Conference.
• 7th Global Student Forum (GSF) about student platform for Engineering Education Development (SPEED).

SUSCET Students win ‘Aero Modelling’ Competition at Thapar University Tech Fest ‘Aranya’

• Two students of B.Tech 1st Year Shailesh Kumar and Mr. Praveen Kumar, won the Aero-Modelling competition held at Thapar University Tech Fest ‘Aranya’ from 22-10-2010 to 24-10-2010. The competition was held at the end of Aero-Modelling workshop conducted during the fest.
• The college team won the ‘Best Project Award’ and the ‘Best Flying Robo Award’ at IIT Delhi, National Tech Fest from 26 to 28-02-2011.

SUSCET Students bag ISTE National Awards 2010 for Best B.Tech Projects in various Disciplines

• Mr. Parwinder Singh and Mr. Manjot Singh of ME department bagged Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fathegarh Sahib, National Award 2010 for best project related to sustainable development in Mechanical Engineering for their project titled “Spherical Robot.”
• Mr. Abhinav Mahajan of Information Technology was awarded Best B.Tech Project Award under the same category for sustainable development in Information Technology for the project titled “Resume Builder.”
• Mr. Ishwinder Singh of Biotechnology department was awarded National Award 2010 for Best B.Tech Project related to Sustainable Development in Agricultural Engineering for the project titled Cold Stress Analysis of Arabidopsis Thaliana Over Expression PaSOD.”
• NIT Kozhikode National Award for Best B Tech Project (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) was awarded to Brejesh Kumar & Ishu Garg of ECE department for their project titled “Telephonic Communication & Intercom using Optical Fibres.”
• NIT Kozhikode National Award for Best B Tech Project (Computer & Communication Engineering) was also awarded to Ashish Sharma& Charu Singla of CSE department for their project titled “Throughput Analysis of Mobile Network using NS2.”
• These students received their awards during XIII ISTE Students National Convention held at JEC, Kukas, Rajasthan.
• Tarun Chhabra of IT 8th Semester, was awarded the ISTE best student award at MBSC, Muktsar.
• Mr. Parwinder Singh of Mech. 8th Semester has been nominated for the best student award from ISTE chapter of Shaheed Udham Singh College of Engg. & Tech.
• Parwinder Singh and Manjot Singh of ME 8th semester bagged 1st Prize in the Robo Prize event organized in 13th ISTE Student National Convention held at JEC, Kukas, Rajasthan.
• Sofia and Neha of 2nd semester secured 1st position in technical debate competition organized in ISTE section convention held at BMSC, Mukatsar.
• Ashwinder and Aditya Srivastava of 2nd semester secured 2nd position in technical quiz competition held at BMSC, Muktsar.
